Summer is still in full swing, in Lunigiana the festivals in the squares continue, the bathing in streams and the Stretti di Giaredo, tourists crowd the markets and villages. An atmosphere of celebration envelops the Valley during this period. Soon Autumn will arrive, which certainly does not mean less charm, indeed, this is the most beautiful time of the year to discover this land. The woods are tinged with shades of orange and red, and the table is enriched with endless products from the woods. This is also the most beautiful time to pedal in MTB through woods and streams and to experience the sense of adventure and discovery, away from the mass circuits. In this atmosphere, the association Farfalle in Cammino collaborates in organizing the 14th Edition of the Castagna Bike, this year Castagna Bike&Trail, which will be held on the second Sunday of October, October 8, 2017, starting from Filetto – Villafranca Lunigiana.
Three routes, easy – medium – difficult. Many bikers are expected after last year’s record of 800 participants! From the family to the competitor in an atmosphere of Celebration, Fun, Love for Lunigiana and Passion for Two Wheels. The organizers together with many sponsors and friends and with the support of the whole Territory, starting from local institutions, are planning the final details to ensure the usual impeccable organization. There will be time to tell everything and to get ready for the Castagna Bike&Trail for a unique day or weekend. Today we want to tell you the main News.
The biggest is already in the name “Castagna Bike&Trail”. This year will be the Zero Edition for Trail Runners. Thanks to the collaboration with Scott, a leading company in the fields of MTB and Trail Running, athletes from the Scott Teams of the respective specialties will be present to tackle the long route, 45 Km and 1400 meters of elevation gain. The classic start at 9.30 am for the Bikers will be preceded by the start at 8.30 am for the Scott Runners and all the runners who want to tackle the course up to a maximum of 100 athletes. It will be really exciting to watch the start of the runners and even more to listen to their opinions and advice at the end of the morning, to better develop Edition #1 in 2018.
The other big news is related to the marking and signage of the long route. Again thanks to the collaboration with Scott Italia, the long route will be, from the day after the event, permanently marked, always passable! starting and finishing from Selva di Filetto. A Showcase for the whole Lunigiana! Every Biker will be able to enjoy the incredible variety of routes and landscapes along the 35 Km all year round. Every Biker, every day except the day of the event, will then be able to upload the track and the times of their performance on Strava, compare themselves with the times of the Scott Athletes led by Team Manager Mirko Celestino, and win the prizes that will be drawn among all participants.
