An Enduro route that will surprise you with its variety and challenge you both technically and physically. This route largely follows the course of the Enduro race that took place on Monte Brugiana for 2 years, but it has been updated with new variants.
Starting from Massa, the route passes through the villages of Castagnetola, Lavacchio, Bargana, and Bergiola Maggiore. Shortly after the last houses of Bergiola, the asphalt gives way to a pleasant dirt road through the forest, with a smooth surface and constant gradient.
After about 10 km, near the end of the dirt road, you reach the first trail: on this route we suggest to take the Hollywood Trail, but from the same point another historic trail of Monte Brugiana starts: Chatel, which can be an even “stronger » alternative.
We take the trail Hollywood, which, after crossing the dirt road we climbed up on a couple of times, changes from a singletrack to a mule track full of curves and switchbacks. After finding the dirt road again, we climb up to the wide switchback that we encountered just before Hollywood: from here, the next two trails of the day will begin. The first one we’ll find is Carosello3000, a long, fast singletrack with good flow. After riding this trail and climbing back to the same switchback, we pass the entrance of Carosello, continuing on a path that we leave at the first switchback, keeping left and following the narrow, technical ridge trail, steep and straight until the stretch by the Monument to the Resistance and the Pine Forest of Piero, after which the switchback festival begins with the Cenerentola and Ciuffoluppo trails. We reach the village of Lavacchio and descend on the road until we find ourselves on Via Foce, returning to our starting point.
